FAQs

  • RAISE coaching offers a significantly different approach to sex education compared to what your young person might receive in school. Here's how:

    1. Comprehensive and Inclusive: Many schools in Florida face significant restrictions on what they can teach about sex education. This might mean abstinence-only approaches, limited (or no) discussion of consent, and a lack of LGBTQ+ inclusivity. RAISE coaching provides comprehensive, accurate, and inclusive education that covers a wide range of topics, ensuring that your young person receives a well-rounded understanding of sexual health.

    2. Personalized and In-Depth: School sex education programs are often rushed or brushed over as a small section of a larger health class. RAISE coaching offers dedicated sessions that allow for in-depth exploration of topics, ensuring that your young person has ample time to ask questions and gain a thorough understanding.

    3. Individualized Attention: School lessons are typically taught in large groups, limiting the opportunity for personalized attention. RAISE coaching provides individual or small-group sessions, allowing for tailored discussions that address your young person's specific questions, concerns, and needs.

    4. Inclusive and Affirming: Neurodivergent students and LGBTQ+ students are often overlooked or left out of conversations about sex education in school settings. RAISE coaching is designed to be inclusive and affirming, ensuring that all young people receive the information and support they need to thrive. We create a safe and welcoming space where every student feels seen, heard, and respected.

  • The sessions are all virtual, and will take place on Zoom. I will provide the Zoom information once the sessions have been scheduled. Accessing the Zoom sessions from a computer is recommended, although smart phones are also acceptable.

  • Each session will be 50 minutes long. It is important that participants sign into the Zoom session on time so that every minute of the session is utilized effectively.

  • RAISE offers coaching for anyone above the age of 10. Sessions are separated by age, in the following groups:

I also offer educational coaching for parents, to provide support in navigating conversations around sexual health and identity with their young people.

  • I am happy to offer payment plans, the details of which we can discuss during a consultation. I am not able to offer scholarships at this time.

  • No! RAISE is not in any way associated with any other organization or entity.

  • Absolutely! RAISE coaching is designed to be accessible and inclusive for all individuals, including those who are neurodivergent. I have extensive training in neurodiversity best practices and inclusion as well as suicide prevention for autistic individuals, and I'm committed to creating a learning environment that meets everyone's unique needs.

All of my lessons incorporate visual supports, clear objectives, detailed descriptions and definitions, and group agreements that are easy to follow. This structured approach helps to create a predictable and supportive learning experience.

Furthermore, during our initial consultation, we will discuss your or your child's specific needs and preferences. This allows me to customize the coaching sessions further, ensuring that the content and delivery are tailored to maximize understanding and engagement. I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space where all individuals can learn and thrive.

  • I am located in Miami, Florida. However, as a private entity, I am not required to adhere to Florida state laws regarding sexual health education in public schools. RAISE Coaching celebrates all genders and orientations, neurodiversity, consent, and healthy sexuality.

  • To create a safe and comfortable environment where young people feel free to share and ask questions openly, sessions are conducted without parents present. This approach allows for a confidential space where young people can explore their thoughts and feelings without feeling inhibited.

Maintaining confidentiality is crucial for building trust and ensuring that young people feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics. This allows for more honest and productive conversations.

However, please be assured that your child's safety and well-being are my top priorities. If anything arises during a session that suggests your child's safety or well-being is in jeopardy, I will immediately contact you to discuss the situation.

I also offer separate parent coaching sessions, which can provide you with tools and strategies to support your child's learning and development in these areas. These sessions allow us to address your specific questions and concerns while respecting your child's need for a private learning space.

  • Payment will be collected through Zelle, Venmo, or Apple Cash.

  • Yes! Sessions are offered on weeknights and weekends.

  • No, sessions are not separated by gender. This decision is rooted in my commitment to creating an inclusive and affirming learning environment for all young people.

Firstly, many students may be exploring their gender identity, and separating sessions based on a binary notion of gender can be restrictive and invalidating. It forces young people into a 'gender box,' which can be harmful to their self-discovery and well-being.

Secondly, I believe that young people of diverse gender experiences have valuable insights to share with one another. Learning alongside peers with different perspectives fosters empathy, understanding, and respect. It's important to recognize that everyone benefits from learning about the full spectrum of experiences. For instance, understanding menstruation is not limited to those with ovaries and uteruses; it's essential knowledge for everyone to build healthy relationships and support one another.

My goal is to create a space where all students feel seen, respected, and empowered to learn about themselves and others, regardless of their gender identity.
